Electrician's Mates for London and the inside of the M25
London's commercial fit-out and residential tower pipeline generates constant demand for mates, largely because containment volumes on those buildings are enormous. A City office floor plate can absorb weeks of tray and basket installation before a single cable is pulled, and putting qualified electricians on that work is an expensive way to buy containment.
The other London driver is coordination. Services zones above ceilings are crowded and constantly re-sequenced against the drylining and ceiling trades, so a mate who can read a coordinated services drawing and set out containment to it saves rework that would otherwise be discovered when the ceiling grid goes in.
Access shapes the day on central sites: MEWPs and towers in occupied or partially finished spaces, shared hoists for material, and out-of-hours work in live buildings. We confirm IPAF and PASMA where the work needs it, and we place mates who have worked in live-building environments when the job requires that discipline.
Every electrician's mate is checked before they reach your gate
Vetting is done before we put someone forward, not after you have inducted them. The evidence sits in our compliance pack and we will send it for your PQQ.
ECS card verified
Checked live against the ECS register for the correct classification — Electrical Labourer or Electrical Improver — rather than accepted as a claim.
Level of competence recorded honestly
A mate who can pull cable and install containment is not the same as an improver mid-qualification. We tell you which you are getting.
Right to work
Originals or share code checked in person, with expiry tracking.
Containment and tooling experience
We confirm what the operative has actually installed — tray, basket, trunking, conduit — because containment competence is where the value of a mate sits.
