Surrey decorating is our most finish-driven market. Private residential work through Guildford, Weybridge and Esher regularly involves hand-finished woodwork, specialist and heritage paint systems, wallcoverings and clients who inspect in daylight the following morning. Speed is close to irrelevant on those jobs; the operative's patience and preparation are everything.
Preparation is where these jobs are won. On older Surrey properties the substrate is rarely straightforward — previous coatings, plaster repairs, timber that needs filling and sanding back properly — and a decorator who skips prep to make time will produce a finish that fails at first inspection. We choose accordingly and would rather send one careful hand than two quick ones.
There is also conventional commercial and education work around Woking, Staines and Epsom, often in school holidays or phased around occupation. Those windows are fixed, so we place operatives with a track record of finishing inside a fixed window rather than needing an extra week.
