01What we supply

Telehandler Operators for live sites, not a database of CVs

Hard Hat supplies carded telehandler operators to main contractors, groundworks and frame subcontractors and SME builders across London and the M25. Fixed mast, 360 rotational and heavy-lift machines — we place operators whose CPCS or NPORS category we have verified against the register for the machine actually standing on your site.

A telehandler is the artery of most sites. When the operator is missing, bricks stay on the pallet, the scaffold does not get loaded and every trade above ground slows down.

One operator or several across a large site, with no minimum order. A single day of cover is card-checked, right-to-work checked and insured exactly as an ongoing placement would be.

02What you get

Every telehandler operator is checked before they reach your gate

Vetting is done before we put someone forward, not after you have inducted them. The evidence sits in our compliance pack and we will send it for your PQQ.

CPCS or NPORS category verified

Checked live against the register. A17 telescopic handler and A77 360 slew are distinct categories and we confirm the right one for your machine.

Suspended load endorsement

Where you are lifting on forks or with a hook attachment we confirm the operative is trained and carded for suspended loads, not just for pallet handling.

Machine size and attachment match

We ask the make, reach and attachments in use — a 4m yard machine and a 17m heavy-lift telehandler need different operators.

Right to work

Originals or share code checked in person, with expiry tracking.

References on plant discipline

04Before you call

What to tell us when you call

Six answers and we can price it and start searching on the same call.

  1. 01

Machine make, model, reach and whether it is fixed or 360 slew.

  2. 02

Attachments in use — forks, bucket, man basket, hook or jib.

  3. 03

Whether the operator will lift suspended loads, and whether a slinger works with them.

  4. 04

Site layout: haul routes, gradients, pedestrian segregation and loading positions.

  5. 05

Start date, duration, shift hours and any weekend requirement.

  6. 06

Site postcode, welfare, parking and induction arrangements.

05Trades that go together

Most sites need more than one trade

We staff the whole package rather than a single line on your requirement, so one call covers the gang.

06Questions from hirers

Hiring telehandler operators — frequently asked

Yes. A17 telescopic handler and A77 360 slew are different categories, and a suspended load endorsement is separate again. We verify against the CPCS or NPORS register before putting anyone forward — an operator on the wrong category is an insurance problem as much as a competence one.

Often yes, and on smaller sites it makes sense. Tell us at booking so we place someone comfortable with it rather than a plant-only operator who will resent the first day of shifting materials by hand.

No — we supply labour, not plant. The machine, its inspection and thorough examination records and its maintenance remain yours or your hire company's responsibility.
