Bricklayers for Surrey and the south-west M25 corridor
Surrey brickwork is disproportionately high-specification. A large share of what we are asked for is facing work on private residential and small commercial schemes where the client is standing in front of the elevation every week — handmade or reclaimed bricks, feature bonds, arches, soldier courses and pointing that has to be consistent across a whole gable. We grade our Surrey trowels on face quality first and raw output second, which is the opposite of how we would fill a volume housing gang.
The second Surrey pattern is heritage and conservation work through Guildford, Farnham and the villages between them, where lime mortar and matched pointing are common planning conditions. Those jobs need a specific type of bricklayer and there are not many of them; if that is your requirement, give us more than 48 hours' notice and we will find the right pair rather than sending the nearest available trowel.
Access is rarely the constraint here — most Surrey sites have parking and a clear forklift run — so the questions we ask are about specification, brick supply and whether the scaffold has been handed over with the right lift heights for the coursing. The operatives we supply drive to site, which keeps early starts and rural postcodes workable.
Every bricklayer is checked before they reach your gate
Vetting is done before we put someone forward, not after you have inducted them. The evidence sits in our compliance pack and we will send it for your PQQ.
CSCS card verified
Card checked against the CSCS Smart Check register, not accepted as a photo. Blue Skilled Worker as the baseline for a trowel.
NVQ Level 2 Trowel Occupations
We confirm the qualification behind the card, and hold a copy for your PQQ pack.
Right to work
Original documents or share code checked in person, with expiry dates tracked so nobody works past a visa end date.
Two site references
Contacted directly — usually the last site manager or gang ganger, asked specifically about output and quality of face work.
Trade test on request
For facing brick or feature work we can arrange a short practical or ask for photographs of recent elevations.
